The Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union commences on 1 January 2026.

As part of this role, the Statistical Service of Cyprus will lead the Council Working Party on Statistics, steering discussions and advancing pending statistical legislative dossiers. Building on the momentum of previous Presidencies, we aim to strengthen collaboration and ensure continuity in achieving shared objectives.

Our commitment is guided by the Trio Programme, focusing on the production of European statistics that meet the highest standards of quality, accuracy, relevance, and cost-effectiveness, in full compliance with the European Statistics Code of Practice. The Trio’s priorities include addressing diverse user needs, leveraging new data sources and technologies, and minimizing response burden while maintaining excellence in statistical outputs.
