Cyprus assumes the Presidency of the Council of the European Union on 1 January, 2026.
In this context, the Statistical Service of Cyprus will be leading the Council Working Party on Statistics, steering discussions and advancing pending statistical legislative proposals. Building on the momentum of previous Presidencies, we aim to strengthen collaboration and ensure continuity in achieving shared objectives.
Our commitment is guided by the Presidency Trio Programme, focusing on the production of European statistics that meet the highest standards of quality, accuracy, relevance and cost-effectiveness, in full compliance with the European Statistics Code of Practice.
The Trio’s priorities, aligned with the programme of the Cyprus Presidency, include addressing diverse user needs, leveraging new data sources and technologies and minimizing response burden while maintaining excellence in statistical outputs.
Our website will be regularly updated throughout the Presidency to provide the latest information on progress, developments and legislative initiatives.
