The Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union begins on January 1st, 2026.

The Presidency Team at the Cyprus Statistical Service is committed to lead the work in the Council Working Party on Statistics and to make progress in the adoption of the pending legislative dossiers. We aim to build on the achievements of previous presidencies and further strengthen the joint efforts.

We are committed to pursuing the objectives of the Cyprus Presidency. Our goal is to ensure the production of high-quality, accurate, relevant, and cost-effective European statistics in accordance with the European Statistics Code of Practice, while also striving to minimize the response burden for enterprises in Europe and the costs for the Member States.
